This resource walks students through independent work on popular culture and the role of women in 1920s America. Students start by reading background information to define key terms, and then are guided through planning a 'day out' in New York, sampling the delights of 1920s culture. Students then review their planned day with added information on women, annotating whether women could or could not participate in the events they planned. Students then consolidate their knowledge by writing the conclusion to the title question.
This resource was planned for AQA's GCSE History: America - Opportunity and Inequality: 1920–1973.
