How did Stalin get control of the USSR?

A great summary activity in which students review Stalin's actions 1929-1941 and categorise them as one of six methods of control. They also decide whether the action is evidence of a carrot or stick approach. This should lead them to an overall conclusion.

Good summary activity. One of my students is Russian and informed us that the equivalent expression of 'Carrot' or 'Stick' in Russian is 'Whip' or 'Cake'!
